On 15th August 2008 STACK architecture set out on an adventure to experience local boutique hotels in Adelaide. We wanted to get an idea of volumes, spaces and 'the experience' of what boutique hotels in Adelaide have to offer. We went on a tour to the Quality Hotel Old Adelaide Inn. It is located at 160 O'Connell Street in North Adelaide. It has 64 rooms with 'boutique-styled' accommodation. In the 70's it was regarded as the best hotel in Adelaide.
The hotel consists of Business, Executive and disable access suites.
The Snooty Fox Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge is one the most interesting features of the hotel. It is accessible to the public and part of it is a small external courtyard under a translucent cover allowing a lot of natural light into the space.
Something we realised was the hotel has a very easy flow for staff to get to all areas.
